Meet the Colorist Behind MvZ - Aline Martins

Aline is the newest member of the creative team and is bringing her vibrant colors to the pages of our comic, and we can't wait for you to get to know her better. Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your background?
Hi, my name is Aline, and I am 31 years old. I have been a professional colorist since 2021, working on a variety of independent projects and studios from Brazil to the USA, the UK, and other parts of the world. My portfolio includes collaborations with Agoven Entertainment, Reboot Comics, and a comic book in the UK named Complete Darkness, among other independent studios and artists.
What inspired you to become an artist, particularly in the comic book industry?
I have always been a huge fan of comics, especially DC Comics. I started reading Green Lantern, my favorite superhero, and from then on, I dreamed of becoming a comic artist. I discovered my passion for coloring and have been fortunate to receive many opportunities.
Can you describe your creative process when working on this comic?
I usually start by researching the comic and the style of the colors needed. I realized that vibrant colors are a unique feature of this project, so I aim to incorporate them while maintaining my own style. My process begins with flats and essential colors, followed by lighting and shadows. Finally, I add textures and extra effects as needed to complete each page.
What has been your favorite part of working on "Memphis vs. Zombies: Issue #1" so far?
Although I've just started working on "Memphis vs. Zombies," I really enjoy the theme and the fantasy elements of the story.
How do you think your style contributes to the overall feel and tone of the comic?
I really enjoy working with Guilherme’s style, and I believe my colors complement his drawings very well.
What are your aspirations as an artist? Do you have any future projects or goals you’re excited about?
I have a personal project that I'm currently working on, and I hope to publish it in the future. Besides that, I love coloring and plan to continue improving my style through studies and challenging projects.
